“Artisanship permeates throughout their culture…”
“Artisanship permeates throughout their culture as they ‘group’ together to execute the vision of architects and owners. Their understanding of materials and processes pushes the architect to even greater understanding of the possibilities of design.”
David Stocker, AIA
You can imagine how thrilled we were to receive the Artisan Award from the Texas Society of Architects (TSA). Part of TSA’s Honor Awards, the program recognizes “exceptional members, firms, individuals, and organizations for outstanding achievements in support of the profession of architecture, the built environment, and quality of life in Texas.”
David Stocker’s quote about Sebastian, above, recognizes our passion to execute the architect’s intent, as well as our mutual reverence for the possibilities of design.
Enjoy a few images of our collaborations with SHM Architects over the years. The project above, Bridgehollow Court, was recently featured at the Dallas Architecture Forum’s 365 Modern Living Cocktail party. Here’s an excerpt from the DAF project description that highlights our project team’s understanding of materials and processes:
“Crisp geometric forms define the courts, terraces and water features and are countered and softened with textural plantings. The material palette of the home and the landscape is elegant and spare: Leuders limestone, stucco walls, water, metal, glass, IPE wood, gravel and light. The materials bring a clean uniformity so that the landscape gestures compliment and support the architecture and tie the two together seamlessly.”
